A video showing a woman who seems unconscious and is suspected of being kidnapped has gone viral on social media.
Those recording the clip were heard saying they hoped they were not witnessing a crime unfolding.
Little did they know that they had indeed captured Liqhame Tshaka, a student at one of Mangaung’s higher learning institutions, being picked up and loaded into a vehicle.
According to (Ayanda), the person who was sharing a missing person alert, Tshaka, was allegedly seen at a club with an unknown man who was caught on camera carrying her out of the establishment to a white car.
Keletso MaNdlovu also shared a post on social media titled “missing person alert”. She then shared a video, saying that the last time Tshaka was seen was the time she was taken to a car.
Watching the 30-second video, loud music is heard in the background and youths are seen dancing on the lawns across the building where girls are standing and recording the incident.

A man is seen carrying the student who appeared either unconscious or intoxicated. He is seen loading her into a white car parked on the side of the road with the hazard lights on. Another man had already opened the door of the vehicle.
“Oh! Liqhame is leaving, I hope we are not witnessing a kidnapping, no,” said the voices of girls who recorded the video.
Later on Sunday night, Ma’Ndlovu told concerned X users that Tshaka had been found.
“She has been found, thank you guys,” wrote Ma’Ndlovu.
At this stage it is unknown if indeed Tshaka was found or not. The Star contacted Ayanda, the person who shared contacts in the missing person alert. However, the person was unavailable.
Mangaung District SAPS confirmed to The Star that Tshaka, who was reported missing and a missing person’s docket opened, is safe and unharmed.
Police said the 19-year-old student at Central University of Technology is back at the campus.
“The young lady is back at the institution. She is safe and sound and reunited with her friends and family. Your unwavering support in fighting all forms of gender-based violence, domestic violence and criminal activities committed against all vulnerable groups including children, elderly people, women and LGBT+ communities is highly appreciated,” said Visible Policing Commander at Parkweg Police Station, Colonel Andiswa Happiness Myeki.
X users shared their views on the incident.
“Women must stay away from nightclubs, going out also in this devastated situation ... because us men when we drink we don’t notice anything we just assume that the guy is taking care of the girl. They arrive together. We don’t think about any kidnapping that can actually happen. Please ladies stay home,, drink home it’s not safe,” wrote one user.
Another user wrote: “With the help of the secretary of the SRC and other members, she has been found. She’s at the police station now.”
“She is back and safe. Turns out it wasn’t a kidnapping,” wrote another user.
