A PHOENIX couple were shot dead outside their home at a complex in Clayfield on Thursday night.
Gareth Naidoo, the spokesperson for KZN VIP Security, said when they arrived at the scene it was established that the suspects were in a VW Jetta 6.
Naidoo said the suspects opened fire on the couple shortly after they arrived in the complex.
"The occupants from the VW Jetta 6 then opened fire multiple times towards the vehicle fatally wounding a female. While the male attempted to flee, he was also shot and killed a few meters away from the vehicle."
Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo, a provincial police spokesperson, said police in Phoenix are investigating two counts of murder.
